Geo for good
This month, Google Earth Outreach teamed up with the Environmental Defense Fund on a pilot project to measure air pollution using Street View cars. The results of the initial pilot focused on the presence of methane—the second-largest greenhouse gas—in a few U.S. cities and is part of Google's broader efforts to provide better access to information about the environment.

Did you know that you can measure the distance between points in Google Maps? Right-click on your starting point. Click Measure distance. Then click anywhere to create the path you want to measure. You can see how far you went on your last run, or how many miles between New York and Los Angeles.
